Game map part 2: database tables & schema

Game map part 1: front-end with Leaflet.Js
As I am a web developer and not (yet!) a game developer, I have no idea on how to draw a map of a web based game. Which is why I transformed the task into something I know how to do – display a map on a web site! So, what are we going to use today? Leaflet.Js – an open-source js tiled map redering engine. Hey-ho! Let’s go!
As already described on the “About” page, I’m here to write a small game. So, we’re going to start with the dev environment setup. I’m using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as a dev PC OS. And here’s what I am going to use during my development:
- Mercurial + TortoiseHg,
- Apache, php 5.3, MySql,
- Sublime Text 2 as an IDE
Let’s start with setting up those and continue as we’ll need something else.
